STUDENT TESTIMONIES

John Paul Grant- ( Worship leader, and video production director at La Montana Christian Camp)

"The School for me is a great challenge, in a good way, especially since I have been a Christian for many years. Never have I gone so deep in studying God's word.In the way that the school presents the Bible and it's richness of knowledge and understanding God in such a way, has enriched my life personally and the ministry where I serve. I am so pleased with God for the opportunity He has given me to grow in Him through the school. Like it says in Ephesians 4:13-15;
'Till we all come to the unity of faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of deceitful plotting, but speaking the truth in love, may we grow up in all things into Him who is the head-Christ.'

This is the desire of my heart, and because of the school it is being developed in my life. Every day I pray for this school, that many more would take advantage of this great opportunity to grow in Him!"

Edward Ramirez Arce-( Father, High School Counselor)

"The school of Discipleship& Ministry has played a really important part in my spiritual growth. It has awakened a necessity to learn more and more about God and His revelations in the scriptures. Also, the school has equipped me to study God's word with carefulness and wisdom. Now that I have the tools and practice to do so, I do not need to be deceived by false doctrines,or heresies. I can now talk and share my faith, with the help of the Holy Spirit, in a clearer and biblical standpoint, straight from God's word. Not my ideas, or my interpretation but what the context says. The most important way these classes have affected me, is the application in my daily life."

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 16-17

Every Season From God Has A Purpose

Jonathan lower right hand corner ( blue sweatshirt)

Victor & Eduardo Evangelism class ( role playing evangelizing)

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven.Ecclesiastes 3:1 ( NKJV)

As Christians we have the privilege to be children of God.To rest in His divine seasons that He alone has orchestrated for us. Although we do not always get to see the reason for the seasons that we are in, and many questions as to why?, when Lord?, How?, It doesn't make sense. We can for sure know that our God who made the heavens and the earth, has a purpose under heaven. And that God's sovereignty, & faithfulness shine through the seasons in our lives. In due time we canlook back and say, " now I know why".

One of our prayer request since we arrived in Costa Rica two and half years ago, has been that God would raise up teachers in the school. So that they can take back the teachings and begin a satellite school in their own churches. Praise God, it is His time! ( and thank you for our prayer warriors!)Finishing the two year course their is two men, named Eduardo, and Jonathan. Victor and I had been praying for these two, as we felt God put them on our hearts. At the end of the two year program which was the last week of July they individually came to Victor and told them they felt called to teach the program in their church. How great is our God to see His hand upon these men call them and use their gifts of teaching. As August approached the program started again from the beginning with 35 new students and 20 who will be graduating in December 2011. Victor opened another night for teaching at Eduardo and Jonathan's church on Thursday evenings. They both are taking turns teaching Hermeneutics, Victor teaches the other class Theology and is overseeing them teach. It is amazing to see them use their gifts and when they teach always a little bit of Victor comes out. (it is funny, you know they were discipled by him)

Glory to our Lord, for his continue strength, grace & faithfulness and fruits in the lives of many in Costa Rica. As this new season begins with new students, teachers being raised up, we can look with confidence and know that our God is working behind the scenes in ways we do not know.It was exciting to see the students from the last two years persevere and finish with dilligence. Sad, yes, as we will not get to see them weekly, God knitted our hearts together. However we still meet with many and they continue strong in the Lord serving Him. May God bless you all! your many prayers, support, Thank you for walking with us through these seasons in Costa Rica and being tools in God's sovereign plans. In Jesus's love, Victor & Nichol Mejia

New Life and Sing a new song

Pizzeria Del Norte infront of our house, Danny & Jose New life in Jesus

Jose, day after he received Jesus

Danny, day after he received Jesus,

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” (John 5:24)
Hello to all!
This semester at the School of Discipleship & Ministry the students are being taught Theology 3 Sin; Salvation and Evangelism. One of the tools in the evangelism class is Ray Comfort‘s, where he uses the 10 commandments when presenting the gospel. Victor went in front of our house where there is a pizza place and lots of young guys hang out there. After classes occasionally he will go and talk to the youth. He wanted to interview any who were willing and video tape them to show the class the way Ray Comfort uses the 10 commandments when witnessing. So he headed out and two young men volunteered.
That evening as the smell of pizza roamed through the streets and into our windows, we had not idea that soon the smell of pizza was going to fade away and angels in heaven would be rejoicing over the souls of these two young men who had decided to give their lives to Christ! I was at home praying while Victor had gone out to share the gospel with Danny, & Jose. At the time I looked out the window and could not see Victor around. I thought how strange, wonder where he went, but God is good the Holy Spirit moved in my heart to keep praying even if I could not see from the window. He reminded me how so much of our prayers our in faith, knowing that God is working and many times we have answered prayers instantly or in days, years, but ultimately God has the time in control. Well that evening God’s spirit moved in the hearts of these two young boys and they have passed from death into life.
The video was presented to the class and they were refreshed and stirred up to go out and evangelize. Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, And His praise in the assembly of saints. (Psalm 149)

Dominique Castillo stepped out in faith , she heard of a need for some worship teaching that would bless the church here at the Clavary Chapel we attend in Costa Rica. In December when we were on a furlough Victor shared the need and asked her to pray about coming. God faithfully moved in her heart ,provided for her to come and since the day she stepped off the plane has been a blessing to us and those whom come in contact with her. After the first meeting with those who were going to be on the worship team was a huge success!! God brought out those who were hiding their talents. She has been working hard putting music together, recording songs to give to each member of the worship team, translating songs. She has a gift and is using it for the Lord! Her testimony of being a young lady and walking uprightly before the Lord in godliness is encouraging many woman and young woman in the church! Words can not express the refreshment and blessing of having her stay here with us for this time. Serving our LORD, Victor & Nichol Mejia

THE REAL SUPERHERO

Fabian, student of School of Ministry and Director for Reblealto Christian Organization

Victor giving message at the end of the Drama

Children anxiously waiting for it to start

Behind the scenes, students preparing for the drama

THE REAL SUPERHERO (Ps 68:5) A father of the fatherless and a champion of widows is God in His holy dwelling.

One can never imagine the plans God has prepared. The people He will place in our lives and doors He will open… It is a character transformation and heart surgery God is doing in our lives personally and in the lives of the students form the School of Discipleship & Ministry. Mainly learning how important people are to Jesus, how He so cares and loves! With God’s truth and word being applied in our hearts, minds, and action’s.
We were invited with a group of the students to participate in a drama that was going to be presented to a group of children who come from broken homes, families on drugs, alcohol, & abuse. Camp Reablealto a Christian organization working with the children and bringing them Jesus love.
It was an evening where these children were exposed to the real Superhero, Jesus. Many looking for someone to look up to, to follow and imitate, not having father figures. But how wonderful when they can look up to Jesus, a father to the broken hearted, to the fatherless!
The play was a 45 minute production about superheroes. A young boy had stolen from a supermarket and he tries to find some help to get rid of his guilt and shame, he looks towards all the superheroes he knows, batman, Robin and others. But soon to find out known of them can help him. Until he has an encounter with Jesus, their he is presented with the gospel of Jesus as the only superhero!
We could only watch in awe of God’s work in the students’ lives as they continue to serve Him, and not only learn theology and keep it in their notepads or heads but seeing it being lived out and applied. Please keep praying for the work in Costa Rica.
In God’s Grace, Victor & Nichol Mejia

SHINE FOR JESUS

Easter Break we were priveleged to have a High School group from Calvary Chapel Downey. For some this was there first time out of the country experiencing a cross culture mission. And for some this is the beginning where God has stirred in their hearts to go back to their homes and realize they have a whole mission field before their own eyes lost without Jesus.

They came to Costa Rica not knowing what to expect or what God was going to do.But they knew that God the God of impossibles the God who provided for them to come and helped them learn how to face paint and make balloons was going to do amazing things.

God wants a available heart one that is willing to be used by him. How great it is that He has put in our hearts His love and compassion for others. In our selfish world where everything points to put ourselves first... Love, How God the creator of the world the Kings of Kings who holds our very heart beat in His hands and knows our everydays, set the perfect example of living for others, serving others and reaching the brokenhearted. We went to Guarari, a poor area with many abused children, some of their parents on drugs.

Downey High School group jumped right in the singing & dancing to God with the children of Guarari. Not knowing the lyrics in spanish or the dance steps, they did not let that intmidate them, but learned the moves fast and brought smiles to the faces of the children.

A smile, a hug, an ice-cream cone, telling a child that Jesus loves them, are precious moments where God speaks to the hearts and shows us the simplicity of reaching out and letting Jesus Shine!! When we are given opportunities to reach out to others , It then when God is reaching into our own lives and changing us."Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave- just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."( Matthew 20:26-28)

Equipped By The Love of God! Through one family in Jesus Christ

Roblealto Brings God's love & Hope to the brokenhearted
Fabian & Carrie

(Luke 4:18) The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Roblealto founded in 1932, a Child Care Associtation is a Christian, non-profit organization in Costa Rica working for the welfare of high-risk children.
For nearly 80 years, thousands of children have received love and attention through health care, nutrition, education, Christian teaching and multidisciplinary services. Each day the committed staff share God's love with the children. Lives are transformed through Roblealto's holistic approach to family rehabilitation centered on lives changed by Jesus.
Two of our students from School of Ministry & Discipleship are Directors for Roblealto one Costan Rican, Fabian, and a missionary from Arizona, Carrie. They have been attending the classes since Feburary and have testified how God has enabled them through these classes to better be equipped when counseling and working with the children and families and staff of Reablealto.Carrie said," I have been in Costa Rica for two years and am so thankful to God for these classes that are enriching my walk with Him and my staff at Reablealto."
We were invited by Fabian & Carrie to teach at there downtown offices for a series they were doing for the staff on" Walking with Integrity" It is always a praise, when after people can say thank you for teaching God's word and not distorting the truth.
We have been encouraged to see God's faithfulness and provision for this organization which was started years ago by two missionaries from Europe.

Pastor Jose

(Eph 4:4-6) There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope at your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.
Victor & I do miss our home church CCEA!! however, through the process of moving to Costa Rica we have been so blessed by Pastor Jose and his family to see their perseverance, and obedience to their call to Costa Rica to church plant Calvary Chapel.(Missionaries from Chile)We have integrated in the church over these last two years, Victor serving as a elder and I overseeing the Children's Ministry.
Before we arrived to Costa Rica the desire to find a good church and sound word, was always a concern! Thank God he had it all planned out! we did not have to worry. The body of Christ here in Costa Rica have been a overflowing of God's love to us, which make it that much easier when we get homesick.
Victor got to present the first baby dedication at the church, baby sahid.(his brother's baby)The Lord annointed Victor with a beautiful message, ( almost made me want a baby)Pastor Jose was moved as well and said," I believe we should make Victor the official baby dedicator" we all laughed. We have a great God who is everywhere, no matter where He puts us if we open our hearts, and eyes to see, putting aside ourselves, we will see Him in many ways.God's handprints are everywhere!!! Thank you CCEA,family friends, for being handprints of God's love, care & provision as we serve in Costa Rica, the one who is worthy of all glory and praise, Jesus.

WE HAVE A BIG GOD!

Oscar, Now Going to the School Of Discipleship & Ministry:

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. ( Matt.5:16)

Going to the gym is not a necessity but God has been good to allow us to be able to go and get some exercise. Victor & I have decided that not only to go for exercise but look for opportunities to share Jesus. I do not write this to boast about us, but to boast in our savior Jesus!! A year ago we met a young gentlemen name Oscar. Oscar would observe us at the gym and mostly Victor as he observed the difference between his behavior than the other men. He asked Victor why he did not comment on other woman at the gym like the other guys. This opened a door for Victor to share about God, and why we were in Costa Rica. Turns out Oscar was raised in a Christian home, received the Lord when he was 4 yrs. Old. After a year of praying and Victor being faithful to share the Lord with Oscar, three months ago Oscar said, “I am going to go to the school of discipleship” He has faithfully been attending, and on fire for the Lord. He had not gone to a church for 15 yrs. And now is fellowshipping at Pastor Rudy’s church, and witnessing at the gym to others. He now tells us, “Hey we have to tell all the people at the gym aboutJesus!” Praise God for His light that shines in the darkness. May He be glorified.

God Wants To Do The Impossible!
Dear family in Christ, as we watch our Lord at work, humbled by His grace that allows us to be a part of eternal treasures. We are excited for His vision that has captured our hearts and pray that also, you will join us in prayer to catch the vision and as we wait on Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Eph.3:20-21)

It has been two years now that we have been in Costa Rica, through these years God is moving mightly. As we all know we have a big God who is in the business of doing big things. He breathed life into Adam, parted the Red Sea, and heals the sick, opens the eyes of the blind. Yet when He whispers to our hearts His plan that may seem impossible, we can rest in that with God nothing is impossible!! Are you waiting to hear the vision? Well the vision has always been to disciple the body of Christ in Costa Rica with sound doctrine, School of Discipleship and Ministry. The last couple of years God has continued to bring many to the school. It has been working through satellite locations, where we go to their churches to offer the courses. However, while at the mission conference in Murrieta while visiting in Jan. God began to put in our hearts a need for a building for the school. Where we could offer more classes, day & evening, and people from all over Central America could come to train for 4 to 6 months, go back to their home churches. We never thought about this or wanted anything like this, but our God wants to do a bigger thing! He has given us His word about how we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. ( Eph.2:10)
We want to obey God and follow His lead, and be sensitive to His guidance; God has always spoken to us from the verse in Rev.3:8 “I know your works. See I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept my word, and have not denied my name. Please help us to pray for what God desires to do for He knows best. May His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Victor preaching at Calvary Chapel,Comunidad Cristiana

We are so thankful to our Lord for the other missionaries here in Costa Rica sent out from other Calvary Chapels.God sees the whole picture, and we are so blessed that so a time like this many others would be here in Costa Rica serving our Lord.
Are dear friends Denise & Geiner are sent out from Skip Heitzig's church in Alborquerque, New Mexico. They live about 10 min. from us.They are church planting a Calvary Chapel in downtown San Jose.
Two weeks ago they had to leave for emergency due to Denise's Dad who had a heart attack.(Please keep them in prayer) Geiner asked Victor if he could help with the spanish service. It has been a privelege and honor to come alongside and serve the Lord with them.God is doing a amazing work there! Wow!!... we have a great big God, who everyday is moving in mighty ways all over the world. Here we are because of the love of Jesus on the cross, that has transformed our lives, able to share in what God wants to do.It is quite an adventure!! To the praise & glory of our Lord Jesus Christ!
