...but the greatest of these is love.

Oh, God's love is so deep and powerful!! Every year in July we look forward to having summer mission team's. It is a time when we get to meet new families, youth and in God's unity and love come together to serve him and share His amazing love.

This year was a team of  18, Each one is so special and served God with all their heart, mind, soul & strength. I love when Jesus talks to his disciples about how the world will know they are his disciples because of their love for one another. And when we have teams come to Costa Rica, it is so evident to the people here that the love of God is real and Jesus is alive! As each one reflects His character.Which is love; 1 John 4:8 "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love."

                                                          Summer Mission Team
The team put much effort, time, and resources to be able to come and bless us and the people of Costa Rica. From garage sales, bake sales, selling tamales. All this so that they could raise funds for the School of Discipleship Dinner with students, paints for face painting children, nail polish for painting nails in the outreach, renting a jumper for children without parents, work projects like painting, and cleaning. Our God faithfully provided and used it all for His glory!! to reach out to the lost with love.

                                                         School of Discipleship Dinner
This evening was a time for the team to get to know the students, also the students to meet them, we had a great evening of worship, and convicting, encouraging,  message from Jon!!

                                                            La Guarari- The slums
Here in this area are children exposed to abuse, sexually, verbally, physically, and drugs, prostitution, and many parents who leave them alone all day. However God's love and light is shinning in such a dark place. Most these children here have the hope of Jesus and that is why they are able to smile in the midst of their dark circumstances!
Children listening with excitement about Jesus

Boy's proudly posing for a picture after finishing their craft

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me..."

You can't have a outreach without the game of soccer!!
                                           gathering together for the game!

                                                       Showing off his artistic abilities.

After a fun, hardworking day in the slums, the team's smiles don't end.

Next day we head off to Camp Reablealto ready to dig holes, paint and paint and paint...
But after the sweat and dirt, their was only one way for the team to refresh themselves, and that was... The water slide!! who says Missions can't be fun? Oh, it can.

In Costa Rica their are Central Parks where families, children, teenagers, & students hang out. They may sit and eat an ice-cream or enjoy each other's company. It is here where we went to hand out tracts, and invite people for face painting, balloons, and nail polishing. The people are always so surprised when we say it is free!! Many come and here the message of Jesus, and the free gift of salvation.

                                                                Sparkling Clean.

God's love does not stop there! It keeps on going...
Our last day loving on children whose parents are in prison or have abused them so they have been taking away by the government. They live in homes with 12 children and their substitute parents. The parents are christian and have left their homes to be parents to the fatherless.

Many had never been in a jumper before.

Goodbye's are always the saddest part. After spending 10 days serving together, our hearts are always changed!! and so thankful to God for the wonderful work he did through each of us.  Thank you to all who suppported this team and allowed them to be tools, hands, and feet of  the love of Jesus. To God be the glory!
