SHINE FOR JESUS

Easter Break we were priveleged to have a High School group from Calvary Chapel Downey. For some this was there first time out of the country experiencing a cross culture mission. And for some this is the beginning where God has stirred in their hearts to go back to their homes and realize they have a whole mission field before their own eyes lost without Jesus.

They came to Costa Rica not knowing what to expect or what God was going to do.But they knew that God the God of impossibles the God who provided for them to come and helped them learn how to face paint and make balloons was going to do amazing things.

God wants a available heart one that is willing to be used by him. How great it is that He has put in our hearts His love and compassion for others. In our selfish world where everything points to put ourselves first... Love, How God the creator of the world the Kings of Kings who holds our very heart beat in His hands and knows our everydays, set the perfect example of living for others, serving others and reaching the brokenhearted. We went to Guarari, a poor area with many abused children, some of their parents on drugs.

Downey High School group jumped right in the singing & dancing to God with the children of Guarari. Not knowing the lyrics in spanish or the dance steps, they did not let that intmidate them, but learned the moves fast and brought smiles to the faces of the children.

A smile, a hug, an ice-cream cone, telling a child that Jesus loves them, are precious moments where God speaks to the hearts and shows us the simplicity of reaching out and letting Jesus Shine!! When we are given opportunities to reach out to others , It then when God is reaching into our own lives and changing us."Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave- just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."( Matthew 20:26-28)

Roblealto Brings God's love & Hope to the brokenhearted
Fabian & Carrie

(Luke 4:18) The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Roblealto founded in 1932, a Child Care Associtation is a Christian, non-profit organization in Costa Rica working for the welfare of high-risk children.
For nearly 80 years, thousands of children have received love and attention through health care, nutrition, education, Christian teaching and multidisciplinary services. Each day the committed staff share God's love with the children. Lives are transformed through Roblealto's holistic approach to family rehabilitation centered on lives changed by Jesus.
Two of our students from School of Ministry & Discipleship are Directors for Roblealto one Costan Rican, Fabian, and a missionary from Arizona, Carrie. They have been attending the classes since Feburary and have testified how God has enabled them through these classes to better be equipped when counseling and working with the children and families and staff of Reablealto.Carrie said," I have been in Costa Rica for two years and am so thankful to God for these classes that are enriching my walk with Him and my staff at Reablealto."
We were invited by Fabian & Carrie to teach at there downtown offices for a series they were doing for the staff on" Walking with Integrity" It is always a praise, when after people can say thank you for teaching God's word and not distorting the truth.
We have been encouraged to see God's faithfulness and provision for this organization which was started years ago by two missionaries from Europe.

Pastor Jose

(Eph 4:4-6) There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope at your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.
Victor & I do miss our home church CCEA!! however, through the process of moving to Costa Rica we have been so blessed by Pastor Jose and his family to see their perseverance, and obedience to their call to Costa Rica to church plant Calvary Chapel.(Missionaries from Chile)We have integrated in the church over these last two years, Victor serving as a elder and I overseeing the Children's Ministry.
Before we arrived to Costa Rica the desire to find a good church and sound word, was always a concern! Thank God he had it all planned out! we did not have to worry. The body of Christ here in Costa Rica have been a overflowing of God's love to us, which make it that much easier when we get homesick.
Victor got to present the first baby dedication at the church, baby sahid.(his brother's baby)The Lord annointed Victor with a beautiful message, ( almost made me want a baby)Pastor Jose was moved as well and said," I believe we should make Victor the official baby dedicator" we all laughed. We have a great God who is everywhere, no matter where He puts us if we open our hearts, and eyes to see, putting aside ourselves, we will see Him in many ways.God's handprints are everywhere!!! Thank you CCEA,family friends, for being handprints of God's love, care & provision as we serve in Costa Rica, the one who is worthy of all glory and praise, Jesus.
In God's love, Victor & Nichol Mejia
