To Serve is Greatness...Reflecting Jesus
Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave- just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Matt. 20:26-28
It has been nine months now since the first day of the School of Ministry and Discipleship. By God's word being taught, He has been faithful to bring fruit forth from the students. And also through our lives. His grace and mercy never seize to be short and always at our grasps.
Our prayers from the start had been to see God move and change lives in their hearts, & put into action. About two months ago God was showing us that after each class and before we started the students would not just come and watch us set up or put seats and tables away, they are now staying after to help! Or some will bring at times bread to share with the class or a bag of coffee. We are seeing God move in action and they are understanding what Jesus meant when he talked about serving.
You see in Costa Rica, majority pastors, leaders, of the church are held in a very high position and have forgotten the meaning of "servant" they prefer to be served. Working with many from different churches, God had showed us this problem, but His word is so life changing and they are now serving. Also, it is wonderful how it reminds us personally that to serve is better to be served , that God’s grace allows us to be examples and not forget our prime example…Jesus and His service. May God bless you and be filled with His Joy. JESUS OTHERS YOURSELF. For the glory and kingdom of our savior Jesus,
Victor & Nichol Mejia
